Whilst studying drama, Martin worked as a freelance illustrator. During this period he was also contracted to VB Concepts & assigned to the Sydney Olympic 2000 Campaign.

With a small group of artists they were to take the existing mascots of the Olympics & re create them in the various competing sports. This was a lifetime opportunity.

Martin was also a volunteer in the opening ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Games & was part of the awakening ceremony as the sunrise over the land as the didgeridoos permeated through the audiences of the world.

Martins job was to take the existing mascots of the Olympics & re create them in the various competing sports. These designs were turned into badges (Pins) & sold in the hundreds of thousands around the world.

Oddly enough there came a point when Martin was studying drama & freelancing as an illustrator to pay his way, where he would be storyboarding commercials one week and auditioning for them the following week.
